Questions on Rallies/meets

Post by The Burchies on Tue 30 Jul 2013 - 21:57

I would just like to ask all the members of motorhomers as a matter of interest, how many of you want to go to meets ?,& who don't ?.
Also where in the country do you live?, how far are you prepared to travel for example for 3 nights & do you prefer long weekend's or midweek. Maybee you would prefer to meet up in france for example.
If you could answer these questions I would be grateful & maybee we might get more rallies going on throughout the country.

 Hi Burchies.
We don't mind meets, but as you have most probably gathered from another thread, we are not particularly into sitting around in groups, or playing silly games, although sometimes we do Embarassed  Can't sit around fire pits or charcoal BBQ's as it effects breathing Embarassed
We mostly use our van abroad and would certainly call in for a few days, should a meet or rally be near to our proposed route Very Happy In fact  to the south of France would be perfect, or maybe a large stelplatz field in Germany Very Happy
Regarding the UK, as we are retired, we usually travel midweek therefore weekend or mid week is of no consequence, but we do prefer not to be on a busy site.
We now find that we do very little in the UK and when we do, we go for about one week. We usually don't plan when, and go when the weather suits us Very Happy  The Ambleside location is a perfect one for us as everything is at hand, including an excellent bus service to other towns.

HIa

Me anything goes would love midweek and school times (not school hols)

But as I said if I am available and I fancy to try the place then yes

Live in Sunny Stockport by the Rain and can do any times but not a lover of the M6 but would find my way around it.
Also if meets are further down than Birmingham would try and incorporate it with a few days somewhere else
Also fitting a meet in to what sometimes seems a busy schedule

As I said anything

HIa

Graham dont worry or let it put you off joining us if you are in the country
We don't do games at all our meets

I am carrying kiddy games with me this weekend as grandkids are calling and then next weekend go on a family holiday.

one of the major problems with rallys is marshalling in difrent areas.if you would like a rally in your area select a site /field spesk to ken offer to marshall that rally I think you will find him more than happy to help set up rally and talk to site or field owner this is wot pam me do on our rallys we marshall can not have rally with out marshalls
