Me too, sad to see such a great plane grounded but I understand why now, just thought it was due to funding till I watched the program

That documentary was the best thing I've seen for awhile. It is a magnificent aircraft, and I have been lucky enough to have sat in the pilots seat twice on our static display at Carlisle airport.

We use to live opposite an airfield and had uninterrupted views of planes taking off and landing. We always knew when the Vulcans were in residence as the house would shake as they started and ran the engines.  
But it was fascinating to watch the Harrier? jump jets they were so graceful. They stopped 'jumping' because they were damaging the runways and was costly to repair the surface to the standard required.
