Hi there,

Has anyone fitted the Floe drain down device to their motor-home?

I have and it is excellent at pushing out additional water, left in the system after a normal drain down.

However, because my Autotrail Scout has quite large diametre water pipes, I had to use the bore reduction adaptors to fit it and, consequently, I find that now, the taps splutter in normal use.

Has anyone else had this problem? I'd be grateful for feed-back.

Malcolm

Hi Malcolm, I do not have one of them and was toying with fitting one as my m/h hold 200lts water and I am sure it would be impossible to remove all the water from the system considering the length of the runs, the boiler is 7mts from the water tank (8'7mt long)

It must hold water in them long runs after draining but with the double floor I have not had a problem yet, might consider one when at Tabley show.

I'd certainly recommend it.

Last year it cost me a lot of money when I forgot the shower hose and it 'blew' the mixer tap.

The MD of Floe is excellent at after sales service and is trying everything to sort my problem!

If you leave the taps OPEN and in the middle position between hot and cold no water will stay there

I think perhaps the volume of water is restricted with the pipe reducer fitted so it will take quite a while to purge the pipes of air when refilling.

Thanks Andy. Sadly, whilst I also thought of that, the taps splutter even if I'm on board for a week.

I'm waitng for a large bore stop tap so I can get rid of the reducers.

Hope that will cure it!!!

Should do. I would say it is increasing the pressure but reducing the volume unfortunately
