| Welcome to rip off Britain, we have just returned from 5 months in France, Spain and Portugal, where we rarely paid more than 5 or 6 Euro's a night, sometimes zero, for all facilities, in some cases including electric! the first night back in the U.K. we had to pay £10 just for parking at Lee Mill near Plymouth. I can't imagine what fellow motor homer's from Europe think, U.K.'s attitude to us all is so shortsighted. Never mind we'll be off again in October. | |

Mick, I don't think its one rule for us and another for them. I think its a case of UK following the letter of the EU law and the rest of Europe bending the rules to suit themselves. We are our own worst enemy. I also think we are very weak about the gypsy population and when the 'news' repeatedly airs stories about Dale Farm and sensationalise it all, other Councils cannot afford to take the risk of the same thing happening to them; what Council can afford to take them on in the current market? Plus there are some british motorhomers who take huge liberties with no thought for anyone other than themselves. It is, yet again, the easy option of stopping everyone because a few have ruined it for us.

| There are all kinds of traveler some who live in them full time like Gypsy . They enjoy the fredom of the road they are forced to make illegal stands be cause local councils wont provide sufficient site for them in areas that suit there life style. Motorhommers like us also enjoy the fredon of the road there ard meany car park in this land how meny offer full size motorhome parking spaces there are thousands of van sorry hundreds of thousands driveing around main land europe and the local towns give them the right to stop . So it is one rule for them and one for us | |

| Perhaps they should put restrictions in place .. Ie. 48 hour parking only .. Only 3 Motor Homes .. Think some of the Councilors get their ears bent by some of the expensive Caravan Sites so they have to do a bit of jumping up and down occasionally .. Looking forward to Europe camped over there but not with Motor Home .. | |

Ie. They want nice sites with toilets etc. but don't expect to have to contribute anything towards the local facilities because that is their way of life. Why not a £5 a night . It would make more sense . Water tap and emptying facilities . Limit the number of tickets issued by the machine and allowed to stay till 10am PLEASE .. ..
