First topic message reminder :

Morning all

Another lovely start with blue sky - forecast for slightly warmer today although Allen ( wints) did say it was 29 c in the shade behind his van yesterday!!

Need to find supermarket today and stock up - pulled into one yesterday and got to entrance to find 2.5 m height barrier!!!

I have the bedroom two thirds decorated . Just behind the wardrobes to do.  Been looking for some decent wardrobes and all I can find are the flimsy kind. That is the problem with living in a rural area.

Deciding on the paint colour
How many shades of White can one have?

Last time I painted the kitchen / dining room I chose a light grey and when I put it on it came out blue
So went and bought a creamy colour and by the time I came to paint the wall that had not had this grey on it
I found out it was the colour that was already on the walls

Anyway away this weekend to think about it

Been there buying same colour as on the walls    So I went and bought those sample pots of paint and mixed it in to the original colour    Infact I mix a lot of my paint colours now.

Good way of getting rid of leftovers as well, guess we've all done that.

Its good as long as your sure you have enough, my luck i'd get to the last few square feet and run out, can't just go and buy another tin   

I have a secret plan for this, I paint round things like pictures, wall plates, bread bin, microwave, toaster,. computer, monitor, tv, looks rubbish if you move anything though.  Very labour saving because there is less to paint and nothing gets moved.

My electrition is working

Son said to flick the switch which I did and hey ho elec downstairs
So my electrition is coming round after lunch

So I might get my paintbrush out instead

I had hoped to be at Skipton, but I'm still trying to get my poose used to the van, she's been alright till we went for a little run to Wickes. Not amused, and today she has been hiding, so that I wouldn't be able to put her in the van while I was working in there

A classic problem with lots of dogs, a tip that works for many is to feed the dog in the vehicle, if the dog is still reluctant then feed her outside the van, then on the step, then inside with the door open then the door closed, then with the engine running etc.  Small steps each one associated with the pleasure of eating, works best if the dog is hungry.  You can "accelerate" the process by feeding in small portions, one meal split into two or three depending how she reacts.  Once she eats comfortably in the van stay inside with her for a while to give her confidence, then leave her for half a minute extending this period to a minute and so on until she is quite confident at being left alone in there for longer and longer periods.  This is where it gets "cruel to be kind", if she won't eat near the van then don't let her feed anywhere else, near the van or go hungry, this applies to all the steps above.  If you allow her to win then you may condemn yourself to finding a dog sitter every time you want to out in your van.
She can change her mind but it just takes a little effort and encouragement from you but don't expect immediate results as it might take some time depending on the dog.

I thought it was a mis spelling of pooch, never mind as the same applies, try it as you have nothing to lose.

I think she will be ok after a while, as its all very new to her, and I will provide a nice dark box for her to hide in.

OK but if she doesn't like being in there now then you may have to keep her in the box when you are out and about in case she won't get back in again.  Better to address the problem direct rather than hope for the best.

Another dull day here.

Was going away for the weekend in the van but the weather forecast suggests I would need a boat.

Debbie my problem is making sure the cats are not in the van when I leave. They stay a t home to keep hubby company.  Have a piccy somewhere of one of the cats sat on the motorhome dashboard ready for the off

We were also going away for the weekend with two grandchildren but changed our minds for the same reason, Sunday is torrential according to the forecast I believe.

Yes haven't been away this year yet as this constant weather doesn't give you much inclination.
Soon be spring!!!

Hoping the piccy of one of my cats appears sat on dashboard of motorhome hoping to go on my travels.

Just to prove I can - I am on a roll   

However Tabs sat on dashboard from inside motorhome. 

Debbie I was doing jobs in the motorhome and Tabs came in being nosey and eventually found a warm spot and laid there.

My little Kara hasn't discovered the joys of the dashboard yet, but I am hopeful she will one day.

Izzy is always eager to go in the van it means adventure, meeting people and sleeping with me either on the bed but if to cold in the bed keeping my feet warm

George as gone down to Birmingham arena tonight for the 3rd round

Woke up this morning with a right pain in the neck, think I might have slightly overdone it yesterday, now where did I put the Ibuprofen!

I get that, try these exercises, they might help.

Chin to chest then chin to ceiling (gently) 5 times

Chin to left shoulder then chin to right shoulder 5 times.

Keep it gentle and with the Ibuprofen you might be ready to work on your motorhome.  

Got sanding to do, might be time for a power tool! Exercises now being done.......arrgh....ouch!

Whilst out yesterday we had thunder and lightning, hail , sleet and heavy rain - with branches being ripped from the trees-think it may be as bad again today
Snow forecast for tomorrow -wondered when winter would arrive !

Windy and heavy rain here.

Making Sunday lunch for the family but thought I would have a look about on here first.

Just spoke to my brother who lives in France down near Lourdes and he said they have had torrential rain and flowing down the mountains causing floods even in Lourdes

Can you believe following the heavy rain this morning we had glorious sunshine this afternoon although it was very cold. 

Weather forecast for this week predicts -6 frosts  Winter draws on  

Yep it's gonna get cold into February apparently!.

At least the cold spell won't be as long as the 2010 winter which started in November.  Think everyone was fed up of the white snow.

Pete I am a step nearer to painting the kitchen /dining room

Well I have brought the step ladders in from the garage.
Son called last night asked what I was doing with the ladders so told him I was going to paint he answered with a shrug  and grunt and then left  ha ha

Dentist phoned me to remind me of my appointment which I thought was this morning but it is this afternoon so after this coffee the paint brush and roller comes out to do a section going to do the diddly bits first then another day I will do the big wall

Had to come out of retirement today   

Supermarket artic broken down on the worst bit of road round here and as Colin was going to Drs in connection with his HGV medical, it was left to yours truly to go and sort out the recovery route etc.

Good thing is it hasn't rained here today - so don't know where Peter's rain went  

Peters rain came down here along with a cold n/easterly wind.
