Removal & refitting of Hymer bed gas struts

First you need to raise the bed up to normal position to remove the struts, using nose pliers remove front split pin & washer  then take off this end of the strut (the end which faces towards the rear not windscreen Make sure you remove the weekest side first..mine was the right side of the bed facing the windscreen.Once you have taken off lower the bed all the way down so you can then access the rear split pin, remove it and washer, raise the bed back up,the strut should come off.next you need to raise the bed as high as it will go,  using a prop or broom handle etc... wedge under the centre front of the bed as photo.This will ensure the bed is at its highest point.

The new strut should now fit over the pins if not quite lined up jiggle the pole up or down a bit until it goes on.
Repeat this process the same for the other side.
Do exactly the same for the other side done!!!
