Flooding in Todmorden area

Saw this on the news last night and thought of Laneside (Alan and Lynda) and also their family and friends, it must have been devastating for the residents and we all hope that Alan's family (everyone) are safe. Our thoughts are with you .

Afraid it is the old story where they keep squashing the river and completely forget that they need to maintain the upland reservoirs and moorland drainage to act as a huge sponge for when these deluges occur
