| We were there about 24 years ago, crossed over on the ferry, and regret not stopping to spend time. Thought you were going to Italy? Don Madge on the other forums is the Guy you need to talk to | |

| Funnily enough, we would love to gallop across to Gallipoli, well maybe a trot, but seriously, we could be very interested. Obviously depends on timings, maybe next spring, and we would not be galloping along, as we prefer to trot and save fuel. Joking apart, we could very well be interested in going, but we would also be going into mainland Turkey to relive old memories. | |

| Which way are people thinking of going? The last time we went, it was down the coast of old Yugo and we returned through the middle, but I would imagine that the best way now, is down through Italy and get the ferry to Greece. probably a sleep on deck location. | |

| We did a tour via Istanbul, then the Black sea, then down through the middle to Antalya. Then we did the whole coast back up to the Canakale (spelling) ferry across by Gallipoli. But that was 24 years ago and things will undoubtedly changed. I really do wish we had spent more time near to Gallipoli | |

Graham thats the way we used to go in the trucks many years ago, down through Yugo, Montenegro and Albania, but the roads where horrendous and a drivers nightmare south of Montenegro and they have not improved in 30 years, I would not go that way in my Buffy but could go in yours if you have the room CanaKKale Graham

| Bob, that sounds good, however we think spring would be better as lighter nights to look forward to, and Turkey can get cold as the late season progresses. However,we think we got carried away with our memories of the last time we were there, and at this stage we cannot say we will be coming, so please exclude us Maybe nearer the time! | |

| Might have to re-evaluate this trip as I was firmly told by the "boss" that as we are going away for the winter then we have our "50th wedding anniversary in August" with a proposed trip to the USA visiting family it may be a trip too far for us, more discussions will take place when nearer the time.

I said Don was the Man, as he has done Turkey lots of times. So that probably equates to one week to get there, one week there and one week to get back. Last year, our Nephew drove out to the south coast of Turkey to collect his wife and dog. He did the whole return trip in 6 days Plymouth to Dalayan to Plymouth. Mad or what in a 4 x 4. If, and at this stage it is a BIG if, we go, we would be taking longer so that we could experience the places, and as we would do the extra bit down to the south. It's a long way to go, just to see one area, as it's a sort of a once only trip.
