PostSubject: Disaster Averted   Disaster Averted I_icon_minitimeMon 2 Sep 2013 - 15:14

Decided as the weather was nice on Saturday and our local group was meeting by a river, we decided to join them for a night.  Mick felt he needed to was the motorhome before we went and fortunately he went into the Gas Locker to check all was working well (I guess this is a man thing Shocked ).  Well what a bonus he did as he discovered that our Gas Regulator had 'blown' and as such we had no gas for our fridge, cooker, hot water or heating!

Quick thinking on my part meant we could still go but would need to take our very old camping gas stove with us to boil a kettle.  Elldwin was kind enough to store our milk & wine in their fridge so everything was covered Very Happy

On the way home we called into a very small caravan sales & accessories outlet called Popes that is in Biggleswade.  Yay they had the correct regulator in stock, plus an external BBQ point and some copper pipe and a Thetford spare part for our toilet.  Well that was an expensive trip, over £100 for all of that lot Shocked.

Helga is now the proud owner of an external gas BBQ point, albeit that it resides in the Gas Locker and a shiny new regulator.  Should it ever happen again and we are away and unable to buy a new one, I am told we can backfeed the gas from the BBQ point cheers
