Spain/Portugal - First Time!!

Hi Everyone

Just recently joined Motor-Homers.

We've booked a ferry to Santander arriving Feb 15th 2013 at 5.30pm.  Has anyone got any recommendations for our first night stop not too far away?

This is our first trip to Spain, so a bit apprehensive!   We're hoping to get some winter sun so wondering how far south do we need to travel to get some decent weather at that time of year? We'd appreciate very much any advice or tips on travelling, aires, sites (ACSI or other), etc. please.

Look at the link above Mark n Linda for a very secure and safe Aire a very short drive from the port.

In February you will need to travel well south for some good sunshine and warmth so if you let us know which direction you will be heading there is plenty of help/advice on here.

they will give you all the info you need,did you get the discount from brittany ferrys?

i was going to stay at the aire{above}but changed my plan when i got the book,as there is one in the direction i will be travelling, the aire is no 61 in the spanish side{fromista}and is not to far from santander.

Hi tessnjoe.  We did our calculations and decided to become members of Brittany Ferries overseas club to get the 30% discount. It didn't work out much cheaper this time with having to pay the registration fee and first years membership fee but we may possibly travel again in May so will make a good saving then! Thanks for the info about the overseas club, we wouldn't have looked at it if you hadn't mentioned it. Looking forward to our free breakfasts!
