Have you an old sat nav? If so take them both with you until you get use to the new Tom Tom.
You will be surprised how two sat navs can disagree on the mapping routes.

We had a Garmin and a TT in the m/h at one time and you could not believe the difference in the instructions for the directions, at some points stopped at the same junction they both gave directly the opposite route. Stopped using that system as it was doing my head in

I went with the oldest sat nav.
I remember with my first sat nav I was leaving a rally site near Rugeley with my one sat nav switched on programmed to go to another location. Pulled up to the main road leaving the site entrance and the sat nav kept changing its mind whether I should turn left or right. That was interesting.

Have you pressed the reset button?
I emailed Tom Tom about an issue I had with my first Tom Tom and I found them very helpful. Worth an email.

Pauline do not give up on your old TT for the sake of a phone call to TomTom UK 0845 161 0009 they will talk you through a recovery for it and then you will know for deffo if it has died and gone to TT heaven.
I have used the system twice before and they are brilliant and also its a UK No.

We have a good Asian owned shop where they sort out your sat nav well they did mine Go on say it that's why I go the long way round.
When following one of our convoy n Sept mine kept saying turn off and the others had gone past the turning And all sat navy's had been programmed in for each journey by Frank.
Oh hold on the penny as just dropped they were trying to lose me
