goodnight dear friend

A short while ago I heard from the wife of a dear friend of whom I had not heard from in ages but know instinctively if I needed his help he would be there for me.

He passed away two weeks ago with the big C all within 6 months, he was a gentle scotsman, a Black Watch veteran and an a good trucking friend with whom I travelled 10s of thousands of miles over many years, not together but bumping into each other in all those strange and unusual places around the middle east, or a truck stop somewhere across Europe or on the docks waiting for a ferry could be a customs post anywhere but we always managed somehow to see each other a few times a year have a good chat and catch up with family life over a beer or two (or more  ) 

God bless you Eddie and our deepest condolence to Jenny and the family, Eddie will always be in my heart for his support and friendship over 20yrs and the love he showed everyone one he met as he had not a bad bone in his body, Barb loved him to pieces as I did, she used to do his washing and cook a meal for us all when we met up while we had a few beers and a chat, then we would not see him for months but we both knew that IF, he would be there.
