posible rally site

hi has any body been to caravan camping site abingdon oxford. seems to be close to town and colleges looks good

C&CC? If so I've been, was during winter, just used it as a stop over on way to Bournemouth

If you mean the one behind Outdoor Leisure it would be ok to visit Oxford from there as P & R opposite and you can walk along the river from there. The site itself is nothing special.

jan any more you no in this area close to town or good pub or some think simler need some rally south of birmingham

Don't forget Lyndon Top at Rutland Water where we held our no show rally this year.

The trouble is I don't think you have enough members living south of Birmingham to make a rally worth while yet unless its a really lovely spot like Ledbury.

Site at Evesham or could return to Eastnor

i agree with you we must build in this area pos but must have some think to pull then in your thoughts :-k

Longer rallies than just weekend to make it a worthwhile trip -or put in a special attraction such as Landrover experience at Eastnor or quad biking .

if the members keep growing as they are we should get a healthy number of members from our neck of the woods.

one of the C&CC DA's have a THS at Abingden Vale Cricket club I had a look the other year when I stayed at the club site just outside Oxford
it is next to the river bus service in the little village nice little village a little to far to walk to Oxford but there is the bus
oh and a lovely park and I did try 0ne pub

Looking into a possible meet if the committee are interested for next year at ..(Shambaholdays.co.uk) hamble will need to contact them early next year for prices & numbers etc...

We have been to that Rally several times, great venue and there is also a boat to Oxford from the nearby bridge, we did the boat trip and came back by bus. The site being so close to the Thames can flood as it did this year whilst we were there and the site closed early because of it, shame as it was the Royal weekend and all the Street Parties were washed out, they did still hold the Bun Throwing event from the top of the Town Hall building an event that is held to celebrate all Royal Events ,they throw hundreds of Buns to the people below, some are launched by catapult too, strange event but fun.

Some strange events up and down the country, they throw black puddings up here, you have to knock as many Yorkshire puddings off as you can, the battle of the roses is still going on

Just been looking on the Goodwood Revival weekend on 13 to 15 September. There is camping on a field, but I am happy to look to see if there is a rally field nearby if anyone thinks it may be of interest. It's the festival where people dress up in 1950 clothing.
