Van or camper to belfast

If you have a self build


A van converted to a camper


And you have not changed it over on the reg document 


If you book a ferry and say it is a motorhome/Campervan 


Do they check what it is registered as 


In other words if we book as a camper would we be ok


Or would their be problems at te ferry ports


Even though it is kitted out and looks the part of  a camper

can not see they would check polly but why are you booking as a camper is it cheaper than a van or some thing

only thing I would be worried about if there was and accident  the van got damaged if you book it as a camper and it is reg as a van could be insurance problem ??

How have you converted the van Polly, have you made structural changes i.e. fixed furniture, ehu, gas supply, ect. or have you just thrown a mattress and a bit of camping gear.

If the changes are permanent then you will have to reregister as camper if you haven't done anything permanent it can stay as a van.

Is it worth trying to get a few quid off the cost of the crossing and risking an Insurance claim that could possibly go belly up, it will cost you a damn site more.
