What do you use on your van for washing and polishing and what do you think of the products used?

I usually use care-avan shampoo, the last one i tried from blue diamond I wasn't keen on, this seems better
Any stubborn stains or black streaks I use a product called streaky, works really well.
Polish I use Farcela G3 Wax this is the best polish I have ever used and I think i have tried them all  Shocked really easy to apply, can be used in direct sunlight, no drying out and turning to powder like a lot of the polishes do.
If your paintwork has gone a bit dull, Farela also do rubbing compounds which aren't as harsh as T-Cut and ideal for use on gel coats etc

I usually spray it with bobby dazzler after a wash too, gives it a protective coating which makes it easier to wash next time

I have been using MER for the past 10 years on both my car and MH after washing them. Everyone I have met to date has always commented on the shine on the MH - enough said.........

Use Fenwicks? for the black streaks - was converted last year - it does make it easier to remove dirt on the roof too

Lots of tips in this thread, might be an idea to have a spot for such things.  Thanks for posting both of you, just need someone to apply them now.

Farcela is great for fibreglass - I use it on my boats
I found that polishing seemed to cause more black streaks - my own experience obviously

Interesting about "black streaks" as we have had our MH for nearly 3 years now and have driven in Spain, Portugal, France, UK and Germany in all kinds of bad weather and to date never seen a streak anywhere on the MH. Perhaps it's the way I polish it, which involves every Sunday where ever we are running a micro cloth with a cap of MER in the water across the outside of MH and on return for our outings complete polish across roof and body work ( we store ours indoors when not in use because of the sun in Spain). My car is 7 years old and looks like new ( same method used )

Mick uses Simonize to wash the dirt of and give a coat of polish on the motorhome and on the cars.

At least twice a year he polishes it with Autoglym.
