Saw this article on Out and About and thought you all might be interested in reading what has happened there this winter.

I cannot believe that campers want to stay for weeks on a car park with no facilities when there are loads of very cheap Aires all over that area, some people want everything for nothing no wonder the locals get fed up of these scroungers.

We walked round the "carpark" in January and could pick out motorhomes in the 100K bracket parked up, washing out, bin bags outside hab door, and chairs etc. Now why on earth spend 100K plus on a motorhome to sit like a tramp in a carpark for weeks on end. We stayed just up the road in the new, very clean with wifi ( but no toilets, but very clean area to empty them ) site for a few days and can only say very nice.
This was our second year wintering over in Portugal and spent most of it in a place some know on here as "Pedro's Place", but did stay in other places including the English chap about 5km outside Silves, which was also nice.

We also "Wild camp", but never say where they are and NEVER more than 2 days ( we could in some places stay more ), but why spoil it for someone else.............

Once they have spent their £100k on a motorhome they probably don't think they should spend any more money, or perhaps they haven't got any more money to spend.  I would hate being on a car park for weeks on end, I want to see a country, not its car parks  Wink

I agree motorhomes are for travelling around, we only like to spend days rather than weeks on any place we visit.
if we go away for weeks etc.. we tend to keep moving from one place to another.
