Hi All,
I've put together this a list of Emergency Phrases for when travelling in Europe - see attached. I'm working on the basis that if I'm prepared I hopefully won't need it.
This covers the majority of the key European countries. I can't guarantee the phrases are all grammatically correct in every language, but my thinking is it'll be close enough to be understood. It could be used either when calling the EU-wide emergency phone number (112) or you could just point to the phrase in the appropriate language if trying to get a local to help you. Let's be honest, having an accident or illness on the road is stressful enough without being understood. Using this could save vital minutes in a real emergency and save lives.
I have a colour copy printed off and laminated that I keep in the cab's central dashboard locker.
Please feel free to use and share with others and if there are glaring mistakes please let me know - I'm more than happy to correct it.
Hopefully none of us will ever need it!
Paul
