New UK aire in Wroxham

Just returned from a weekend away in Wroxham Norfolk where a new MH facility has opened.

This is my review:
Took a punt on this spot as there was very little detail available on the internet other than a phone number and single picture. Rang the owner Cheryl, and was pleasantly surprised that there were spaces available for a bank holiday weekend. The site is at a unused Marina and boat building yard that Cheryl has now opened up to motorhome parking. The site is easy enough to find, if approaching from Norwich, turn left just before the bridge in Wroxham and drive along the track and park facing the rivers edge. Cheryl (who lives on site in a boat house) will come to meet you and explain the facilities.
There is a separate men's and ladies toilet and shower block with key code entry that is also used by the boats in the Marina. Showers require 3 x 20p coins (didn't use it so can't comment on temp and time, but they looked clean enough). The shower block is 100 meters or so away over the humb backed bridge where there is also a chemical disposal point. There is no tap by the disposal point however for flushing the cassette. Near the pitches there is a single water tap but no drive over drain or electric hook up. There are plenty of wifi opportunities with a strong 'BT with Fon' signal and with a booster you should be able to pick free wifi from the pub opposite or from the Mc Donald's in the village. 3G mobile data reception however is poor on vodafone.
The big plus point for the site though is the location. You park right on the edge of the River Bure in the middle of Wroxham village opposite a mooring point where you can watch the broads cruisers performing their manoeuvres and the day boats cruising up and down and feed the various ducks, geese and swans.
In the village, there are plenty of pubs, restuarants and shops (most of the shops appear to belong to "Roy"!) plus an unusual amount of Fish and Chip shops. You can also hire all manner of boats or take a river cruise along the Broads. There is also a light gauge steam railway with trips up to Aylsham, so plenty to see and do in the immediate area

Just had a ganders and even with the lack of facilities directly on site it looks a pleasant place to chill for a few days and maybe take a boat trip. Thanks Ian.

Great revue Ian, many thanks for the heads up.  Glad you saw that many shops belong to "Roy", even as kids we called Wroxham "Roy Town" (Norfolk born and bred), Roy's the Chemist, Miss Roy's boutique, Roy's supermarket, it goes on, he must own half of Wroxham.
