The thing that stopped me for ages taking my Ham Exams was the fact I couldn't do Morse..I was a signaller in the Army (Not Royal Signals) but the morse always escaped me..when the Morse bit was dropped from the exam syllabus I decided to take the exam We've all had a bit of fun with CB Radio but that now is just full of idiots playing music wanting to be Chris Moyles or foul mouthed plonkers..ham radio is THE way..Radio was THE first medium and will stay around for a good while..

My Dad, bless him was a radio ham. He spent hours in his shed come rain or high water. He new Morse from his stint in the army during WW2. He died in 1976 and never sat an exam in his life.
Whenever I think of this form of communication now, I think of Tony Hancock
