[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]No Mark, only towing a motorised vehicle is prohibited in Spain, towing a trailer is completely legal if it complies to the law, proper lights, brakes if over 750kg and rear markers (red triangles) | |

| An interesting site but phrases "like we make an exception if the bicycle does not overhang a lot" which is used in relation to the carriage of bikes and the V-20 striped sign as they call it; I sense that they are not quoting legislation when they state things on this site but a mixture of practice and opinion. I would be much happier about the site if either the Spanish or EU legislation was quoted. The on the spot fine practice that seems to be used more and more by Police including our own in the UK seems to be based on the preposition that the Police know and understand the legislation to the degree that Barristers, supported by their clerks and stacks of books and cases stated do. They would all be redundant if the law was that easy to administer. In relation to towing of trailers and vehicles that become trailers our own law struggles to differentiate all of the possibilities surrounding this and tends to fall back on the likelihood of danger being caused by the use and manner in which the vehicle(s) are being used. This gives plenty of scope for the lawyers to earn their living. | |
