Bob (whistlinggypsy) is planning on organising a rally at Parc Verger, La Halte, 87150 Champagnac-La-Rivière, Limousin, France in September 2016
There will be a maximum of 10 vans allowed
You will need to organise your own ferry but Bob will arrange the campsite booking and he will be adding more details soon

Hi Bob, we could be interested in this trip.  How long are you thinking of running this rally for?

We will be there for one week from around Saturday 3rd September but if you wanted to stay longer I am sure the site will accommodate you, it is in a lovely part of the Limousin region.

We will also be seeing Alan n Lynda (Laneside) at their new French home which is very close by the site.

Hi Bob

Thank you for your enquiry.

Yes Alan mentioned that you might be interested in having a meet here next year.

We would be delighted to have you here and 10 units would be okay.

We could offer you 10 pitches with electric at the rear of the site not far from the toilet block (6 hard standing and 4 on Grass) .

As a group we can offer 10% off the normal pitch prices for the duration of the meet.

We also have a marquee available that we can offer you to get together in (photos on the facebook page) and if required Lisa can arrange some food for one evening .

We would however ask for a reservation deposit of 20€ per unit paid in advance, which would be deducted form the bill on arrival.

Hopefully this gives you some information for further discussion with the group.

Don't forget to put your names down early for this fabulous site as Barb and me will be away from early February to late March and we could miss out on the discount if we do not book it early 2016.

We can alter the dates to suit most people in September as we will be if France for all of that month.

We may be interested Bob but we cannot get the time until the latter part of September.

Hi Jan and Mark, Barb n me will be in France from 2nd September for the whole month but have to be back in the UK for the 30th September for a previous engagement, so if the week starting 18th Sept will be ok for both couples I can certainly arrange that and it will suit our commitments.

We would arrive on the 18th and probably stay until 27th then head for home.

I will need to have the amount of pitches we will require hopefully before we leave for Spain but I can still arrange things from their it is just easier from home. 

Also you will have to arrange the €20 deposit sent to Park Verger, but I could send that in total if you pay it into my PayPal A/C which will be arranged when we are back in the UK.

Hope this is suitable for you both and that more people will come aboard for a great rally in a lovely part of France.

Closeby is the Chateau de Chalus. This was once the chateau of Richard the Lionheart.

Shopping and sightseeing in Limoges

Our nearest mixed fishery Domain de Jarlat is just 15 mins away 

Lac St Mathieu (15 mins): A beautiful lake in woodland setting

Rochechouart (20 mins) : a small town, where a major attraction is the château

Piégut-Pluviers (30 mins) : If you like markets, this is a must on Other market days can be found here.

I think we will have to give up on this rally Bob, we have discovered that we are going to be Grandparents again at the end July early August, so we will be on hand to help out the new parents.

Decided grandchildren are like busses, they don't come for years and then two come along within months of each other.  

Thanks for letting me know Cheryl, it's not getting much support anyway and if it has not picked up by the time we get back from Spain I will cancel it and just go and see Alan and Lynda by ourselves.

Hopefully in the new year their will be some interest Bob, it's still early days yet people don't know their plans for next year yet.

Fully agree Polly and Mark, I know it's difficult to make arrangements for something so far ahead and I understand this, I am sure it will be fine after the festivities when everything is back to normal (whatever normal is )

Thanks for the bump Mark, as for the 2 weeks you talk about we are going for 4 weeks and spend 7 to 10 days at Park Verger (you can stay as long or as short as one needs) then doing some moseying around France but obviously it will be on campsites not Aires, if we can sort a date out for the meet that suits everyone that will be great but I will need to get it booked when we return from Spain as this site is a favourite with many people so will need to book the relevant pitches.

We are definitely coming now as we have decided to change our other plans.

Barb n me are deffo going and I think Jan n Barrie are as well but leave it until I am home Ken and I will see who else is going

Anyone interested in going on this meet please put your names down so I have some idea of how many pitches to request, and then Ken can put the meet on the scrolling page for all to see, it is a lovely place t spend some quality time.

Would it not be a good idea to put the rally on the scroll bar so people can see it all the time and it doesnt get lost.

Hey if you want to stay longer we know of several good aires in the locality

You better stock up for the invasion Alan,  I feel one coming along. Weather here in Spain in great although the wind is driving me potty, been blowing for days now but at least it's warm wind and the temperature is due to increase to 26° by the weekend

No wind here Bob but no sun either but boy has it been better than any winter we remember back in Todmorden

We haven't had a winter yet, not been bad at all really but it might be coming soon

Any newbies that have any concerns about taking their van into Europe for the first time and would like to come on this meet just send me a message and will help you with almost anything you ask, I.E. routes, ferries, train, campsites and Aires. Park Verger is set in beautiful French countryside with loads to do all around the area.

Back home now from our winter trip to Spain so I will start organising this meet, so if you fancy a few days or weeks in great French countryside on a well equipped site and situated in a beautiful area put your names down and come and join us.

This meet is now cancelled due to lack of interest    Barb n Me will still be going from early September for 2 weeks then move on somewhere different for a further 2 weeks.

If you still want to go to Park Verger i suggest like myself will do is contact them and make your own reservation. Sorry folks.
