Silly question

I thought I had asked a question last week but can't find it
Well I can't remember what it was, so until I do here's another
Drained the van down and left the taps open but should I leave the waste tap open

I do, saves the tap from breaking if there is any water in it

Drained mine down at Uttoxeter including the water heater, left all the taps open, and then ran 60 miles home via Marbury Park (service place) two days later went down to the van and with my water removal tool got 2.5 pints of water out of the system. If I had left that in and we had a real bad cold spell I dread the outcome and the cost. Driving around does not get all the water from your system, neither does just opening all the taps/valves and letting it drain.

I have an oil filled radiated in my van over the winter months set at the lowest temp
Will this help  the water yes I know it sounds silly but thought I would ask

Yes Polly, keeping the interior above freezing point as long as it is constant heat, letting it switch on and off frequently will cause condensation as the air is warm then chills down causing a dampness in the air, if all the water is out of the system it is far better to crack the air vents open and open all the cupboards and stand your seating and bedding up off the frames and let the air circulate.

Polly, if you are prone to attack from mice get some mothballs and put a few in old net socks/tights or the like and place around the wheels (stops them climbing up the tyres ) put a couple of bags in the engine compartment (that stops them chewing your electrics) and throw a couple under your bunks and seating that will keep the little bu**ers away.

Bob where do you buy mothballs? Looked out for them here and told they are no longer available.
Dad's car was visited by a rat last week which chewed through a couple of cables under the bonnet. Dad couldn't understand why the engine wasn't running properly. When car bonnet lifted found a 'larder' of food waiting to be cooked on top of engine. Rat must have been there for sometime as it left a few deposits. The car had been used the previous day.
Rats can be seen running round the nearby farmyard and the farmer can be often heard disposing them.

We got some from an old style  chemist in Ainsdale the shop is like going back 100yrs but it is a proper chemist, not been that way for a long time but next time we pass I will look in and see if they still sell them.

the chino shops in spain was the only place we found to sell the old type mothballs,
i bought some from amazon but they are made from wood.
peppermint oil soaked in cotton wool will keep mice away{they hate the smell}
get pure oil from amazon.
