Windows 8.1 free upgrade to Windows 10

Last June I purchased this laptop which has Windows 8.1 installed.  I have the option to upgrade to Windows 10 free of charge until the end of July.  

Last week message came up on screen saying I would be upgraded automatically on 28th April which I declined at that time.  If I do take advantage of Windows 10 I will do so when I want to - if I do upgrade.

My questions - do I stay with 8.1 or do I upgrade to Windows 10?  Has anyone else taken this step and now regrets doing so?

If I do upgrade and it all goes wrong I will be back here asking how to revert back to 8.1

I updated and it stops and starts a lot so much I thought it was not going to do it. It is a lot better than 8 once you get used to let

You hear reports both ways Joyce, some prefer 8 and others prefer 10
I prefer 10 personally, you do get the option to go back to 8 if you don't like it but not sure if that will still be the same in July
I had issues when I first upgraded but that was due to drivers that Sony laptops require, it's recommended that you only did they upgrade when they said it was ready but I chose to do it early, I reverted back to 8 but like what I see on 10 so decided to get rid of all the Sony stuff and do a clean install and not had any problems since

The laptop is a Toshiba - my third. I use an accounts package which I originally purchased for Windows 2003? and don't want to change the program. Took me a few attempts to load onto 8.1 and it runs fine. Think I am nervous that it won't run on 10.

From what you both say I think I will try the upgrade once I have done the accounts year end. Fingers crossed

As far as I know everything that runs on 8 will run on 10 but Google your program and see if others have got it working
