Inside the vehicle were photos of the family’s 49-year-old son who had special needs and passed away nearly one year ago.
The motorhome was used by the family as a way to take their son on holiday and contained photographs and items chosen by him such as the TV, stereo, board games, DVDs and CDs.
It has the words ‘Bessacarr E435’ in green lettering on the front and is powered by a Fiat Decato diesel engine.
Investigating officer PC Lucy Nelson said: ‘This has been very upsetting for the family, who are now not only dealing with the first anniversary of their son’s death approaching, but now the reported theft of a vehicle in which they had many happy memories.
‘I would encourage anyone who may think they have seen this motorhome to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting crime reference XY/020867/16.'
