Motor-Homers Xmas Meet, 12th to 16th Dec 2013

First topic message reminder :

Finding venues for the Xmas period, with electric, hard standing, a function room, restaurant and a place big enough for a good sized meet are hard to find, we have managed to get a centrally located site at
Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel
Melbourne Road

Derbyshire

Your Marshals for this meet will be - The Motor-Homers Committee
Dates booked are 12th to 15th December 2013 for 4 nights (leave site on the 16th December)
Price per van per night is £7.50 + £4 per night for EHU
We have a function room booked for Friday the 13th December.
We plan on having a meal on Saturday the 14th at 18:00

Hi all

Just to summarise arrangements so far

We would appreciate donations both for the raffle and mulled wine, all proceed will go into club funds.

We will be holding a Secret Santa - presents with the maximum value of £2 - wrapped and marked as suitable for male or female - one for each taking part

There will be a best lit unit competition (small prize)- judged on Saturday evening


Programme of events

Thursday 12th
Units arrive and settle in - please meet and chat to friends old and new

Friday 13th
12:00 -1:00pm Soup and roll - donation of £1 per couple for club funds appreciated
7.30pm Social gathering in hall - wine and mince pie on arrival. Games and music to follow
Raffle tickets on sale and raffle draw about 10.00pm

Saturday 14th
2.00pm prompt AGM -Please support our first meeting and come and express your views and provide suggestions for future activities
Followed by short Committee meeting



Evening 6.00pm Christmas dinner- followed by Secret Santa and music

Sunday 11.00am Coffee and Christmas cake. Please pay the balance of your rally fees

The jock has landed at the site make sure u have a good torch will have a good look tomorrow in daylight of to bed now start work at 0330 bonjour. 

Nice morning at the site turned up in the middle of the luner caravan meet lol they are not very happy me thinks.there all going today so not to bad. 

For those who might be interested this is going on around the race circuit on the 15th, I would imagine it's free to watch.

Battery now on  Gladys and she sounded happy when I started her up.

I wasn't in when son fitted it so will check under bonnet for any tools   

After I started her up and was happy I came out and locked the habitat door.
Thought I would press the lock on the van part but nothing seemed to happen so will investigate tomorrow.

I have an early start tomorrow as my sister as organised a shopping trip for after lunch ( I wasn't going to set out till around 11) ( as no matter where I go I check the time and it always seems to be around 11) so earlier start. Then something organised something for Wednesday. Then organised something for Thursday ------ noooooo only kidding for Thursday I need to be somewhere Thursday   

Even Izzy is excited

We went to a Truck Show at Donnington Park a few years ago and the circuit had a six foot high fence round it. We were not on the circuit but in a field nearby. Think it was Touring Cars the days we went and it was very noisy. Couldn't hear ourselves speak.  The Show was moved elsewhere the following year.

Unfortunately its part & parcel of staying next to a race circuit.

No problem at all for water, short hose will do but only one on site and it's in the 1st field as you enter the site in the middle of the pitches. Drive in then take exit sign and it's on your right, white breeze block affair with hedge around.
