Just bought a 3D smart TV
We need a new one anyway, not just bought it for the 3D, ours has two stains on the screen and it's very annoying, tried everything to remove it but it just won't go, looked online and found it's more than likely dried condensation between the two layers of glass Evil or Very Mad
Anyway, we went down to Curry's today to have a look whats available, was amazed at the effects of the 3D TV's, I know there's not a lot broadcast at the min but it will appear soon i'm sure, but there's plenty of films available to watch.
It has a function to "3D anything" it gives a different effect but there is nothing jumping out of the screen at you, it's more like a stage effect, seems eveerything is being shown in a box on the wall, or even you have knocked a hole in the wall and are watching the next door neighbours tv through it Very Happy
It can be networked, so my next plan is to get a nas drive and put everything on that.

Haven't got it yet, only used Curry's for viewing it, got it for the same price at John Lewis with a 5 year guarantee Laughing

We looked at the 3D Smart TV last December (2011) but because I wear glasses and you need 3D glasses at £83 each, we just went for the Samsung Smart TV. We are really impressed with it. We have Love Film streamed to it at just £4.99 per month but we had to up our broadband to unlimited as I like to watch movies and old TV series like Greys Anatomy.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as we have enjoyed ours for the past year.

That would be active 3D then with glasses at that price - right?
I looked into all this before I went to Curry's, knew what model I wanted and everything.
Active use battery operated glasses that flicker at 100 frames per second, as well as messing about with batteries or charging them, they are expensive, heavy and make your eyes tired apparently. Passive is the same thats used in the cinema's, glasses aren't powered and you can get them for a couple of quid a pair

That 3D sounds better than we were looking at Ken, amazing what a year can change in technology. How are you streaming your computer hub to yours, we have a couple of plugs, one has to be by the hub so that it can have a cable in it and then we have a plug by the TV and the house wiring turns into a intranet, really clever. Have they brought out anything better now?

I love all this clever stuff Very Happy

I'm using them at the min for the BT vision box, TV will be wireless, nas drive will be wireless, can then transfer anything from PC, phones, tablets etc to it and download them also to any devise including the TV

Just upped mine to unlimited, was on 10GB, get very close to that at times, I can see it going way over now Very Happy
Undecided if I should keep the BT vision now confused I'll leave it for now, see if we need it
