| When looking at insurance its just as important to make sure you're covered as much as you can eg contents, windscreen etc... rather than how cheap it is. Generally m/h insurance is reasonable compared to cars, we pay almost the same as our smart car. | |

Generally m/h insurance is reasonable compared to cars, we pay almost the same as our smart car. Many thanks for your reply ! We like to have a good insurance and always compare like for like and would never bother claiming for anything below £1000 We would presume your smart car is cheap to insure so wondering how you get your MH for so little ?? Thanks Sandra | |

| Hi,
We have been with SAGA for the last 3 years for our Motor-home, 2 cars one that I tow and our House Buildings and Contents, as they have consistently beat everyone every year for us.
However, with all insurance it really is a case of write down what you want the insurance to cover, then ring around every time, as one that was either dearer for someone or dearer for yourself is really no indication of what they will be the next time you contact them.
So many things make up the quote, that it really isn't worth checking what other people get, even if they are similar age and live in a similar locality as I'm sure some insurance companies have quoter's to meet and may offer an unbeatable deal in the morning to someone and then a totally over the top quote later the same day.
Hope that helps, but as you asked we renewed in Dec 2012 with SAGA 12000 miles per year, full NCD, protected NCD, engine boosted, 25k value, full European cover, no breakdown - £278

| Done a quote with Safeguard online and it comes out £50 more than our renewal and has European AA standard cover included. Quick phone call to them with a couple of questions and hey presto its now £4 cheaper than our renewal ! Seriously thinking of taking this one as normally we have taken out Red Pennant cover which as you know is a arm and a leg but is very good
Anyone got any quibbles with Safeguard ? Or Standard European Cover ?
Thanks Sandra

| As with most insurance companies they are okay until renewal -when the price shoots up from the previous year-then when you change they say -why didn't you ring us for our best price--this really annoys me. Safeguard did this to me after being a loyal customer. Caravan club are offering to beat renewal quote by £25 | |

| Keep at it get as much cover as you can for the best price, but the more cover is better than a cheap price! | |
