| That's great as all my weight is at the front
"When adding weight behind the rear axle the back tyre becomes a pivot point meaning any added weight will increase the load on the rear axle but actually decrease it on the front one." | |

| You can't trust payload figures! It is actual maximum gross weight that counts and neither axle can be overloaded. Very many vans are overloaded when their grey waste tank is full I am not | |

| I do think it is important to keep within the vehicle weight limits, but the problem also manifests itself when confronted by these 3.5 ton limit signs, that seem to becoming wide spread thought out France and other European countries.
I was told some time ago on a German based web forum that the 3.5 ton limit signs in Austria that have a van or lorry shape on them can be ignored by motorhomes, as they are directed at commercial vehicles.
However if there is a 3.5 ton limit sign with no pictures on them then if you are over 3.5 don't go down there as the sign is probably directed at a weak bridge or road surface, which seem to make sense,
I apply this logic throughout Europe ? and keep my fingers crossed |

Quite right Brian, as this picture shows the 3.5t weight limit and the picture is of a truck (commercial vehicle) so no trucks but m/hs can use this road as we did last year coming home from Spain, if the weight limit sign is blank (white background) then nothing over 3.5t can use the route. | Hi I have gone through many 3.5 ton signs but never when there is no vehicle sign as you could find the road can't take the weight - Techno100 wrote:
