| Brian, Spain holds nothing special for me except maybe for the warmer and dryer winter for my wife, my enjoyment in going anywhere is the drive, I just love driving and exploring different routes, I love mountains (going up not so much coming down).
I love going on touring trips in the m/h rather than go and stay ones, we have in the past done 5000/6000 mile trips and we enjoyed them greatly, we have toured tens of thousands of miles throughout Europe in the last 15yrs, but looking at the cost now a 3500 mile trip too Spain and back will cost approximately £1200 in fuel alone.
Add all the other expenses and it ain't a cheap holiday for around 6 to 8 weeks.
Would I swop at the moment, NO, we both love this m/h but neither of us would want to keep it if it meant we where not happy doing it. | |

| Hi, If you can get €1.15 for £1 then its working out between £1.21 to £1.30 per Litre in France and the best I can find here in the UK has been £1.43 so its still a bit cheaper where you are but the gap is closing.

| Looking at the way the £ is going against the € we could see a better deal for your € before we leave bringing the cost of fuel down even cheaper, we live in hope, but then of course prices increase here as fuel is priced by the $ so we cannot win whatever way we go. | |

| Hi, I agree Bob its the "doing rather than the end result" its like most hobbies we spend thousands of pounds on and get enjoyment from the doing, it can sometimes seem like an anti climax when you get there all you are really looking forward to is the next journey. I WON'T be giving it up in the near future I've still got plenty of places to go - whistlinggypsy wrote:
