Thank you all for the input...had a great week in Wales and never paid to stay over once.
Started off at Talacre beach free over night in a car park rang the pub first....cost a round if pool and a couple of drinks to say hi and thank you. Landlord nice chap ...lovely bakery....on to Prestatyn
lots if height restrictions there, but found a wide street to park on for free amongst all the shops can supply post code and name for anyone who wants it....at night drove to a smashing layby which I passed coming into Prestatyn off the road next to a field with lovely farm animals.
Next onto Rhyl parked free of charge over the sea took lovely pics sunset /rise did sone shopping....had an expensive 2 cuppas and midmorn toast at the harbour cafe over the new drawbridge£9.50 ouch cuppas in the van from now on....2 nights in Rhyl as scenic lovely from the van with some grass for Bonnie in front of the beach...
On to Colwyn bay...Rhos on sea which was all free overnight on the beach it was awesome such lovely quaint shops....onto Prestatyn ....restrictions midnight tib8am no motor caravan parking ( livid we pay our road tax) why do they do that lol anyway found a great spot FREE CAB FACING THE BEACH but side road stayed three nights as did a lot there. Outside four star hotel....went in the cable car...took open top bus into Conwy to the castle it was a lovely day....danced on the pier to the golden oldies...had fish and chips at £17.50 ( Wales is expensive ) for two mine was only fish and I boringly took the batter off ...keeping to my 2.5 stone weight loss lol....was going into Bangor but the weather broke....planning to do another trip in a few weeks as a successful wilding week, a great change from cc )25£ nighters....the new LPG system was great too and did a practice top up at Morrisons which turned out easier than I thought....brill week...thank you Angel Mac 2 x photos to follow in gallery.

I assume that after Colwyn Bay you went to Landudno and not Prestatyn as you have put. I've never had the guts to 'wild' it in such places so good luck to you.

Is it a bit dodgy round that area then Paul?

Yes Paul oops llandudno after conwyn bay but stayed at Rhos on sea over beach too... All safe on main roads would never stay anywhere unsafe by putting ourselves or the van at risk and at no time did that as I said had a brill week. Mostly another van was next to us on the beach front too... Never seen any trouble not even police.

Not especially. As someone said on another forum regarding a visit to Wales 'go to Rhyl first, then everywhere else will be brill'. Colwyn Bay has it's share of drop-outs and druggies but Rhos, next door is lovely. Wilding just not my thing. Surprised that Llandudno allowed anyone to park overnight, they won't allow any campsites anywhere near the town.
