| Which is your prefered way of escaping Blighty to France?
The last four crossings we have used the tunnel, more expensive but by heck Lynda does finding it re-assuring that regardless of the weather the train only goes up and down once

| we only use the ferry either from dover/dunkirk or calais then drive because it is cheaper unless you collect tesco points etc, which I know some do on here. | |

| Just booked my crossing for September £164 return (£54 tesco vouchers) so in effect it cost me now't just the shopping at Tesco's which is a wee more expensive than our local Morrisons/Asda, but hey ho it still feels like your getting the crossing for free.
We do prefer the train to the ferry as it is so much easier and quicker, and for those with pets it's a blessing.

| Hope you all have a great night when you meet up but be aware the new mayor doesn't allow overnighting anywhere. We went this year but got moved on by a lovely young policeman (you can tell I fancied him) who told us we were only allowed in the campsite. | |

| We stayed at the campsite in Ypres at Easter. Book online before you go 12 euros a night all in the camper places. However we went back on our return home we never booked and it was full so we had to go into the campsite part which is marginally more expensive (cheaper if there is only one of you).
Great site 5 mins cycle from Menin Gate and an easy 15 mins walk for me. (5 for Kevin long legs).
We will certainly go again. The camperstop is open all year but the campsite is seasonal. You can book in via machine when you arrive If reception isn't open but you will need to pay by card that way.
As I say can't recommend this site enough. Also picked up wifi occasionally from reception in the van.

| " Tunnel or Ferry " Whichever is the cheapest ! Last 2 trips have been courtesy of Tesco on the Tunnel train, which cost £30 (for the dog). On the ferry normally pay around £105 return including the £30 for the dog. Like Bob, we don't go in the middle of the night, normally about 9 or 10 in the morning and the return trip 9 or 10 at night but we are flexible about the day and hour so we can usually pick a good time and price.... | |
