Hi
Has anyone ever done some or all of this route ?
Thinking we might do this while we're our way down France to tip into Germany on the Swiss border to visit the black forest and then to come back up German to the caravan salon at Dusseldorf.
Any info on places to stay or must see sights would be great.

Hi Tosan

We went to the Alsace Region this summer and although we didn't follow the Wine Route, we did stay at Eguisheim.  There is an ACSI site there called Des Troi Chateau (1492 on page 188 of ACSI Book).  You can walk into town from there and its all very pretty with some wine  distributers.  We didn't buy any.  The site, I felt was a bit unkempt but I am told that is normal for France.

We also visited Riquewihr, another nice town, but we didn't stay there.

We then visited Kayserberg, there is a very large Aire there and it wasn't very full when we visited it (but again we didn't stay).  You can walk into town from there too and I think it was 7e per night.

We also visited Obernai but walked around the Ramparts and had lunch there.  The Aire is by the big Car Park, again we didn't stay so cannot say much about the Aire.

It is a beautiful Region, very Germanic looking and I think you will enjoy it.

We won't have ACSI book as we go next week ! Smile

Was wondering what it was like as we haven't ever been that way
