Ypres

Just back from out annual two weeks across the water and ended out trip in Ypres (as we did last time)

I know some of you are going shortly so just a few things for you.

1 - If reception is closed (opening times 9 - 12.45 and 4 - 6.45) You need to book in using the automatic booking system.  Do not park in front of the barrier as this blocks people going in and out.  (you would be surprised how many do this)

2 - Follow the instructions on the screen and do not forget to activate your card before going back to the barrier.

3 - You will need to pay by card so be prepared for this.

Its a short walk into the centre of Ypres from the campsite use the path next to reception and then branch off to the path on the right (If cycling stay on the concrete path) Then turn right at the bottom of the path and you are a short distance from the Menin Gate (ceremony each night at 8pm)  Through the gate and straight down the road brings you to the main town square.

I must say I think I prefer Ypres to Brugge.  There is a market in the town square on Saturdays.

For those of you needing a supermarket - The nearest one is Aldis.  If walking eave the campsite by the barrier and turn immediate left up the path at the end of the path turn right, when you reach the end of the road you will be able to see Aldi across the road.  Literally 5 mins away.

We did a lot of cycling and museum visits from the site. 

I know many of you have been before but this is for those who may not be aware of any of this.

Be prepared to run into people there.  Saw Ken and Jen(Gaspode) there as well as Maddie and Roger.  Also saw a Hymer wildcamping and and Tyne Cot cemetary that I think I have seen before I think the number was G13 HYM.

Forgot to add.  Free wifi on a few of the pitches but you can site on the tables outside reception to pick it up.

Thanks Sonja, we are thinking of doing the WWI battlefields in June 2015 unless Mick has retired by then, so may go earlier.  Don't want to go next year as its their 100 year anniversary and its bound to be very busy.
