If anyone is heading this way and worried that WHO may miss her soaps then fear not for the present time

We have had our ups and downs since we turned the corner in the Basque country because on the 11 th October the signal that our Mobilsat (80/85 cm) dish uses to find Asta 2 was switched off.

With big fiddles and little fiddles I can now switch it to Asta 1 which it never fails to find and then manually tune it to Astra 2 (this becomes easier with practise)

So for most of the route down Spain and Portugal we have had all the freesat channels from Astra 2 but I seldom got the Sky box to work.

Now we are in the Algarve we have the usual freeesat channels from Astra 2 and I can get limited Sky programmes from the 12 volt Sky box these include all the BBC, ITV, Dave, most Discovery channels,Watch, Gold and a few insignificant ones but none of the ones starting with  the Sky name.

As you are probably aware this could change any time  in the near future as they fiddle with the Satellites but we are down here or near to Cadiz until April ish so I can keep you up to date.

Just in passing if you are struggling to find Astra 2 find Astra 1 and then stand the dish more upright about one inch and turn the dish ANTI_CLOCKWISE slowly about 3 to 5 degrees

If Tele.is important for you Bob then bring a cheap dish and tripod down and similarly if anyone is thinking of buying a nice new automatic system for use anywhere outside of the UK then try to hold back until things settle down

Alan, if your still in the same place in late November I will show you IPTV working. Been playing with it for past 2 weeks here at home both on 1mb B/band download and 3G sim, both of which work fine. So if cannot get sat dish to work it's a great back up. No messing with IP address etc is needed to get UK TV with this system. I'm sure you will "google" it for info.
As for using Mobilsat system, fingers crossed come Jan/Feb they will have software update. I email them every week just to be a pest...........
