Hi from the Romantic road

We just got decent WiFi first time in Germany so just saying hello from Augsburg, which is halfway along the route - Romantische Strasse.
Impressed with the places visited so far, and the Bavarian Fairytale Castles yet to come.
After this route wer going to Munich for beers !!!!

Went similar time last year, loved it, we stopped here for visiting Neuschwanstein 20 easy mins on bike - pancake flat despite being near the mountains!

Just check the dates as its Bavarian Bank Holiday around now and half of Germany turned up at the castle along with half of Japan. If you plan to visit best get the tickets in advance online. We arrived at 10am and didn't get into the castle until 4pm!

We stayed there 15yrs ago (been 4 times since) when it was just a gravel parking area and a tin hut with a water tap outside 1 toilet, a sink and a ruddy freezing shower and a black water dump, loved it from the very 1st day it is a magical area.

Got to ticket office for 2 castles 8am, into first by 9-30 and into second one at 1 pm.
When we were having lunch between the two the queue for ticket office was 100 yards down the street.
Moral : get there early !!!!
Worth seeing - amazingly like Disney castles.

Hi, We did the tour around the town with the Night Watchman a few years ago,  and in the dark with the ambiance of the  old town its really a great tour,  we will certainly do it again as his dry wit is really funny.
