Well after 20yrs motorhoming has finished as I have succumbed to Barb's wishes (badgering) and sold my beloved Buffy today and we are now TUGGA'S so lets have all the flack at once so we can get that out of the way quickly.
We now have an 8mt 2014 Elddis Buccaneer Clipper tag axle caravan, do not know yet when it will ready for collection but hopefully in time for the Southport Fireworks show as Buffy is going into the dealers at the end of this month and I have some additions to put on the caravan, my Satellite dome, spare TV in the bedroom (Coronation Street/Emmerdale viewing only) Auto motor mover (never move that without one).
We have onboard water tank and solar panel fitted as standard, Alde heating, huge Fridge and separate freezer and also the biggest bathroom I have ever seen in a UK caravan/motorhome.
This will not stop us going to meets in the UK or Europe (when required) but it will stop us staying on Aires,Stelplatz and Sosta's and thats the bit I will miss the most, but then I will have the car to get around anywhere we do end up.
Ken can you arrange for me to be pitched between Polly and Joyce at the Fireworks show as I will be using the wastemaster a lot to empty my grey water.
Seriously folks its what we have decided and Barb is over the moon as she was deeply unhappy (although we both loved Shell Island) when we were last away getting in/out of Buffy and the pressure was clear on her so as she comes 1st this is our joint decision, so be GENTLE with us
Hopefully see some of you soon tugging away.
Barb n Bob
P.S. I will be putting a For Sale post on with some stuff that is surplus to requirements and a great prices, if you're interested in any of it it can be collected at the Southport Firework Show.

Ken I have taken out of Buffy up to now 3 FULL car loads of stuff I have been carrying around for many years, must have spent a small fortune on wasted fuel carrying all that crap around.

We will attend as many meets as we can and will find it strange seeing you in a caravan. Trying to think what we may need from Bobs bargain bin but can't think at the moment lol See you both soon we hope xx

Got a Mercedes ML270 CDI Auto 2.75tonnes towing 1.9tonnes so no problem there, have not fully decided yet whether to fit the Gaslow in the caravan or sell it, but if I decided on the later I will P.M. you the details and the price and we can go from there.

When a decision has to be made, its no good pussy footin about, make the decision for the benefit of both of you, that's how Robert and me allways did things, so well done you two, and all though it will be a while before my little project is done, hope to see you soon.

Nice, when we had a caravan (1500kg Swift Challenger) we started with a VW Passat which wasn't up to the task and it was soon replaced with a 3.5 litre Shogun even though we kept the VW as it was a company car, but changed the caravan to a Motorhome after experiencing a blow out on the caravan

Health problems can hit anyone at anytime...you've made the correct decision. Never say never, we wouldn't worry about becoming tuggers again if health issues dictated.
Hope to see you soon, maybe in Spain, eh ?

Hi Bob and Barb. Glad you have made a decision that suits both of you. You will be happy in your new caravan I am sure as the Elddis Buccaneer is a very nice caravan. I am sure Barb will be more confident getting in and out of it as it will be lower and you may only need one step (rather than 3).
When you pick it up, post some photo's so we can see your dream liner

I like your choice of tow car Bob, we towed with a ML270 CDI Auto - they are superb tow cars. We started with a lovely blue one and then a silver one. All mod cons and a pleasure to drive. In fact, it is my favourite car from all the ones we have owned, so easy to reverse park as the wing mirrors went down when you put it in reverse so you could see the kerb - aaah they were the days.
Happy travelling Bob and Barb

Cherly, thanks for your comment on the towcar, for me its a nice car and will do what I want but I was at first concerned it would be too large for Barb but she absolutely loves driving it (never get her to tow though ) our is Champagne Gold and is superb and a dream.
Now what you say about the wing mirrors, when we first got the car and I reversed into the parking bay where we live the mirror was in the down position when reverse engaged, and I thought why has that happen so I reset the mirrors and now after what you say it "should do this" but it does not now and I find it not difficult but strange as I cannot see the curb edge but do not know how to reset them, 'do you or Mick" that would be very helpful.
Hopefully catch up sometime soon with you both and Jan n Bazza as well.

Glad that is sorted and neither Mick nor I can remember. Do you also have the automatic electric seats? You can set it for the main driver 1 and the second or third driver 2 or 3. You should be able to set it to a comfortable driving position for you and Barb and when you press the relevant button the seat will automatically set itself for that driver (I was No 2!). I am trying to remember all the other goodies on the car. I like the colour you have chosen. I wish we could buy another one, but our Helga won't pull an ML on a trailer, too heavy
We look forward to meeting up with you and Barb sometime soon too. Take care.
Oh just a thought, does your wing and rear view mirrors automatically dim the person behind's headlights for you so it doesn't dazzle you? It should do, no flicking rear view down. Ours went a greenish colour.

Yes thanks to Ken and my ignorance the mirror situation is solved, yes we have the 3 position heated seating and it fantastic as Barb has wee legs and so when she gets in to drive she presses No 2mode and all is set for her, also yes the rear view mirror is auto dim another great advantage when driving in the dark (though I tend not to as much as possible)
Yes a wee green light comes on, altogether a beautiful car to drive and a pleasure as well, we are attaining 35mpg at the moment around town and some urban driving but dreading pulling a 1900kg caravan thinking heyho where my fuel consumption gone but after Buffy's 20 mpg it should not be as low as that.
It was hard decision for me as I loved the freedom of the m/h parking when and where I like but now we will have the car to get around so its horses for courses and the main thing sweet pee is happy so that makes me happy, that is what it is all about, compromise.
