What do you want it for? recording journeys in decent quality or just for security reasons?

I have a cheap one in the car, cost about £20 and thats jst recording/overwriting all the time, there "just in case" For the van I bought a better one so i can record journeys and possibly grab screenshots off it but I have since discovered that you get a lot of reflections and it wobbles a bit but feels sturdy when you try and move it, but it it fairly decent quality for about £75, it's a Trancend Drivepro 200 and gets good reviews. Here's a sample video from it, can you spot our new van mascot?
And another to show you how friendly the Shetlanders are
everyone waves up there, farmers, postmen, public, car drivers, I had wavers cramp when I come home - I SAID WAVERS

Following damage to rear corner of motorhome by a car last October I have recently purchased through Amazon [and through Motor Homers website link] Transcend Drivepro 100 for rear motorhome window. Will take a 64gb sd card. I would have waited for the Transcend Drivepro 220 which is supposed the upgrade on the 200 which Ken has, had I known what I know now. The camera is quite small so I leave it permanently in the rear window. Can play back the video via the rear camera screen.
In the front window I have a RoadHawk HD with GPS which shows you the road you have travelled on when playing video back on the computer. Also shows your speed. I have a 64gb sd card fitted.
I am pleased with the videos from both cameras and wouldn't know which to choose if I had to purchase just one of them. That is apart from the Transcend which I would choose the 220.

Polly have a look at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and other drivers cameras he reviews.
Look on Amazon uk under drivers video recorders. You will see the ones Ken and I purchased.
If you drive a lot at night you will want a decent infra red lens.
64gb sd card is needed if driving for more than about 6hours and wanting to keep all the video.
GPS shows your location on Google Earth maps and the speed you have driven.
I agree choosing the right drivers camera is a minefield. I had the RoadHawk one but couldn't decide which camera was the best for the rear window. Finally settled on the Transcend. I also purchased the Transcend detachable mount.
