Extra bright bicycle lights

I appreciate that these new lights help a cyclist being seen but have had a couple of times when the cyclist is approaching that I have found them to be dazzling and twice been confused when the cyclist was riding on the pavement on my side of the road!!
Not sure whether it is just me as my eyes are sensitive to bright lights or perhaps other have had similar experiences?

Me too, I meet one guy regular on the moors on my way to work, he's coming in the opposite direction and you can't see a thing, the lights are that bright I think they want banning, there as bad as the laser pointers

The cycle lights are not governed by MOT test like car lights so it may be that they are not correctly angled. I too find them blinding.

It's not just the angle Joyce, you can get really powerful lights now for very little money, I can understand why they are doing it but it might be a case of you don't knock them off their bike but you run a child over because you were blinded by the cycles lights
