A1 North Yorkshire 34hour full road closure this weekend

We have just had notice from the Highways Department that the A1 is to be fully closed from Saturday 7th May 8pm to Monday 9th May 6am.

Southbound carriage way is to be closed from Scotch Corner to junction 51, Leeming Bar.

Northbound carriage way is to be closed from Junction 50, Ripon and Thirsk to Scotch Corner.

The closure is to enable the workmen to put a drain across both carriage ways at Catterick so the A1 doesn't flood there as it has done in the past. All part of the A1 upgrade in this part of North Yorkshire.
