Polly, what size are your leisure batteries and solar panels? An inverter will really hammer your batteries.

If you are just looking to recharge things you are far better getting 12v chargers for your iPad and phone and a 12v tele is a good idea, far more efficient.

If we are away for awhile I use power packs for my iPad and phone and recharge the power packs when on EHU.

After all that waffling, I do have an inverter which we use for the toaster, but this would only be used in the summer months when the solar panels would have a chance of recharging the batteries.

PS. Without going into to much detail a pure sine wave will charge anything without a problem if the battery has enough power, whereas a modified one will not charge everything.

I've managed for 10 years without one so I am sure I can manage for the next 10 years.

Dave can you charge up power packs on 12v
E.g. During the day or when on the move through the cigarette lighter e.g.

Polly, the power packs I have will charge up on 12v, but I usually charge them at home on 240v.

All you need Polly are these and wire to leisure battery. The one i have is 3 12v sockets and 2 usb's got it from Aldi or Lidl and had it in the Tribby and Hymer  now have it in the Tribute and never had a problem. Have the plug which is easily accessible so i can disconnect it when left over winter so it doesn't draw any power. Powers the 12v speaker and charges phones etc.
I also have an inverter
