Here is a bit of information about our site and what is in the area..
As you have possibly been made aware... We have Fresh Water point, Elsan Dump... (Grey water goes on any tree`s or bushes..) We try to recycle as much as possible, there is a general bagged waste bin by the main gate, and a bin for Bottles/Cans/recyclable plastic and paper & Cardboard bin by the Tea-Shed...
There is a Campers WC/washroom.. (Unisex) which is cleaned twice a day...
We have a Tea shed which from 7am till approx 9am is open for early birds for a free cuppa Tea or Coffee, seating outside, just bring your own cup`/mugs... Help yourselves, but please take care the tea Urn sides get very hot..
Also in the tea shed is a fridge for guests use...
We ask that you use concrete blocks.bricks (Which we have) for on ground and disposable Bar-B-Q`s, so as NOT to scorch the grass..
We are on our own private sewage system and ask that "Elsan Blue" "Wet Wipes and "Sanitary Aids" are not used in your Cassette or put down the toilet as it upsets our system..
There are a couple of nice walks in the area across fields... and there is a Cycleway/Pathway into Stafford along the old railway line... Out of our gate a and turn left and walk to the first road on the left which is Station Road... walk down there a short way and you will come across the old railway line, turn right which will take you into Stafford (4 Miles)... turn left and that will take you to the next village "Gnosall".. again approx 4 mile...
Just up the road from us 2 minute walk on the other side of the road is the "Shropshire Arms" Pub/Restaurant.... the food is highly recommended... but a little pricey...... on up through the village of Haughton is "The Bell Inn".. meals are also served here.... but we have been told it has been done up modern and has no atmosphere..
In the village is a Convenience store/Post Office/Off license also a family Butcher and a ladies Hair Salon.... opposite these is an independent Motorcycle dealer..
Outside and a short walk from our gate is a bus stop which will take you into the County town of Stafford or the other way to Gnoswall - Newport or Telford.. The bus is a number (5).. and runs frequently. Every half hour weekdays (Please ask us regarding bus Time table...)
In the next village to us (Gnosall) are two Chinese and one Fish & Chip shop.... both Chinese deliver to our site for a small fee..
Also in the village of Gnosall are two nice Pub/Restaurants alongside the canal.. "The Navigation Inn" and "The Boat"... we have eaten at the Navigation Inn and the food was quite good and basic...
Nice walks along the canal are here...
Close to us is the old ruin of Stafford castle and grounds, numerous other attractions within a short drive away including The Stafford Show Ground...
Dogs are very welcome, and there are two dog poo pits either end of the field, and just by the white gate to the field is a pooper scooper, all other dog waste to be bagged and deposited in general rubbish (Green Wheelie Bin) by the main gate...
The nearest Doctors Surgery is in the next village "Gnosall"......... There is a Vet`s for Pets surgery approx 3 miles away on the left before you get to the town of Stafford..
We do NOT have EHU`s but do have two (2) Honda whisper quiet Generators for any one requiring a battery top up... just pay for fuel used.. Generators (Quiet) are allowed... within reason and thought for other campers... between 9am and 7pm...
We do have a 40ft x 20ft Marquee.... but this needs 10 - 12 strong men to erect and take down.... also a smaller one which only needs 4 persons to erect..
We can run an extension lead from our premises should you need for CD player/radio or speaker system..
Our reduced fee for Rally`s is £6-00 per unit per night...
All that remains is for myself and Judy to wish you all a pleasant and memorable stay at "Weston Croft Camping"
Should you need any other information... Please ask...
Regards
Maurice & Judy
