| Baza n Rina are still stuck at Albi for a couple of days and we are heading north slowly, we will not leave France until they catch us up hopefully by the the weekend, but we will then have to cross over to the UK before the bank holiday weekend. Still got the bubbly ready for our joint celebrations. | |

You got me thinking now Bob - yeah, me thinking Are you using your wi-fi booster? I wonder if these have a firewall built in them, can't say I have seen one, if they had they should give you a bit more protection than just connecting direct _________________ Keeping Leapys boat sailing [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Now at Montoire-Sur-Le-loir on a nice Aire close to the centre with a bit of free wifi thanks too Mifi 2.
No news from Baza although I have tried several times today to contact them.
Hade a horrendous night last night with a thunder storm that lasted 3 hrs and it was torrential rain all the time, ground everywhere was a mess so headed for Saumur but was informed they had problems too, so headed for Amboise and the river there is in full flood, so this is what where up to.
Will plan a stop further north when we have heard from Baza.
May come home earlier than planned as this is no fun.

| Well we have nome decided to return to the UK on Tuesday, we have been waiting for Baza n. Rina to catch us up but have now found out they have the wrong parts, so back they go to Camper UK for the correct ones.
It's a bank holiday here on Monday so they can do nothing until next Tuesday then wait for the parts then get it fixed and then on their way hopefully by the end of next week.
They have had an really exhausting and unpleasant time and we feel so sorry for them both, after such a great time in Spain and on the way back into France then it went so horribly wrong.
We are going too stay with the grandchildren for a couple of days on the way home but should be back in Southport by next weekend.
Have a good weekend whatever your doing.

| Going to stay at Calais Aire tomorrow for a couple of nights before getting the train on Tuesday.
Went into Calais today too Pidou's for my vino, 3,5 and 10lt cartons are a good buy saving up to £10 a carton but the bottles are not much cheaper than Asda's 3 for a tenner so not worth the weight carrying it home.

| Can't understand why these parts are not available over there in France. Taken from Al-Ko website - Quote :
- Since 1979, AL-KO has been at the forefront of motorhome chassis conversions.
With manufacturing plants in Germany, England, France and Italy, AL-KO has worked with Fiat, Peugeot, Citroen, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Renault and Vauxhall to engineer a lightweight, low height chassis perfectly suited for motorhome use. _________________ Keeping Leapys boat sailing [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Ken, it's not a chassis problem it's the brake pad has separated from the backplate and chewed the disc up so it's a Fiat problem and the problem is the RAC did not take them too a Main Fiat garage but some obscure French garage.
I blame the RAC fully for cutting corners and employing freelance recovery agents to save money as shown on UK TV recently.
Baza should have insisted he was delivered to a main agent, he could then have had the van securely locked away and the could be be in a hotel while the repair was conducted.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

| No that would invalidate the insurance. 1 I would have phoned Alko personally with the Alko chassis number on the plate under the bonnet to confirm which parts are theirs and which parts are adopted from Fiat. 2 I'd have taken the knackered parts myself to a fiat dealer for their appraisal along with the Fiat chassis number 3 I'd be rolling again. This back street garage was the worst thing the RAC could have done, it sounds like there is lots of incompetence at play :-( | |

| Trouble is Bob, once the garage has stripped it down, any reputable garage wouldn't put it back together knowing you were going to do that. I would probably do the same thing, have done in the past but I wouldn't do it for anyone else _________________ Keeping Leapys boat sailing [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Well as Julie said unfortunately back home after a great holiday with great company even though we kept losing each other. Thanks to Pete & Pauline for putting up with us for nearly 5 weeks after parting company in the south of france we slowly followed the aires mainly on the lot & loire for the return journey then on the seine at the end. We also went into pidou Bob for our final topup of vin rouge & beer until the garage was crammed as much as we could, we found bottles of corbiers for 1.65 euros & crates of 24 beers for 5 euros. Anyway as I said thanks to all for a great time although the weather not as good as last year.hope it gets better for those still there, and who are going in the near future.good luck Baza & Rena with the van & try to relax!. | |

| We are also back in the UK after what was a great trip with good company, a really excellent trip down to Spain and the MarJal is a 5* site albeit a little isolated, you do need transport when there.
Leaving there we had a few days at Calpe but the weather was not good, so leaving Pete n Mark ( Frank was in Benidorm) we set of for France with Baza n Rina.
Had a few days on a lovely site at Hospitalet del I'Infant right on the beach, then too La Jonquera for a stock up of essential supplies of spirits before heading for Gruissan Plage.
From there it was Carcassonne next stop, then too Lacrouzette but after a long climb up there we didn't like it so after lunch we where heading for Castre then Souillac, it was shortly after our decent that disaster happened to Baza n Rina with a brake problem on one of the rear axles.
They are now still stuck in a hell hole waiting for more parts to be delivered ( first ones where wrong parts) I feel terrible as it was me that talked Rina into going to Spain and now they are in a bad place.
We waited for 7 days for them to catch us up but they have still got big problems so we have returned home as the weather was not good.
We hope that things improve for them on Tuesday after the bank holiday weekend and they get the right parts and can come home soon.
