Ebay scam done on me

I have had a eBay scam done on me when I sold the HTC phone, the buyer said on numerous occasions she had paid the amount into my PayPal A/C and even gave me a PP transaction ID No. which turns out to be fraudulent.

Fortunately I have dealt with the matter in accordance to eBay rules and all transactions have now ceased and PayPal have an alert as well, eBay will now deal with the matter, but if you do sell something on eBay and get paid by PayPal do check your account before posting and items, their email stating they had paid was very convincing but I was unhappy with the way they conducted their payment, as you can see by the email it certainly looked official.

You have to be so careful nowadays with the scammers, so check and check again before you commit to posting.

Cannot get rid of this flipping phone.

That was lucky Bob!, but at least ebay & paypal have good insurance against this type of thing.

You didn't post the phone did you? Under the circumstances you should be able to relist it free of charge

no way was I going to post it Ken, I had 3 people emailing me asking for tracking numbers and wanting my home address all from the same address as the buyer, real dodgy crowd that lot.

eBay are doing a fraud claim and PP have my A/C on secured entries for the time being, eBay said there will be no charges set against my A/C and when it's cleared their system I can relist.

There is so much of this going on, people are making a living out of fraud, you PP picture looked pretty good as well, they go to such lengths.

That does not look anything like the official paypal notification of payment I get when I sell on ebay , when I do get the email I always open another browser go into my paypal account and check the payment is cleared , and I never believe any buyer until I can see the money !

Nice one Baza, I would never believe a buyer until my A/C has been credited but your opening another browser idea is a great idea
