West Coast of Scotland and the Outer Isles tomorrow...

Remember us? We tried to reverse off the Whittingham Festival field!

Anyway we are off tomorrow to the Hebrides to try our luck with the weather this time around. The ferry prices are being kept at the winter rates, so a great time to get over there.

Travelling light for the journey up, as tomorrow night we will be at Oban to stock up with food, fuel and water, then weather permitting, over to Barra on the ferry. Then...

Eriskay / The Uists / Harris and Lewis. Where we will meet up with some folks we met on Harris last year. / Ferry to Ullapool. Then tootle down the West Coast to Skye. Ferry to Mallaig, then stop at our favourite campsite at Arisaig for...who knows how long!

We intend to take about a month, but we have to be back for the Referendum Vote to do our bit to try and get our country back to us. (For better or for worse. At least we'll be able to sink or swim on our own terms!) and not have a bunch of Foreigners telling us what to do or not to do .....

i went to the outer hebredes this time last year from whittingham and the weather was BAD YES BAD only lasted a couple of weeks
so arn't you glad i'm not with you and i am on the opposite side

Hello all,

We arrived back from our latest trip to the Outer and Inner Hebrides last night. Apart from a few drops of rain during a couple of nights, it was sunshine all the way for the three weeks or so of our hols....Honest! We and all the other campers just couldn't believe our luck, even the locals were smiling!

After we crossed over to Ullapool on a mill pond sea, we came down the west coast and then decided than rather than go inland, we jumped the ferries from Kintyre to Arran and then to Ardrossan on the mainland in one day, and then tootled along the Solway coast to Gretna.

Luckily the M6 was easy going for all our journey down....Mind you, it was still a shock after the empty roads around the Western Isles of Scotland.

Anyway, hopefully we will see you all again soon.

You lucky people having the sun

We had sun on Orkney 
Lovely place no tragic found fifth gear wasn't needed and wow going to fast at 30mph
So laid back and no rush here or rush there

Then back on mainland Scotland and now I find I'm reaching 60and fifth gear. Not looking forward to English motorway and roads
