Easter 2013 March 28th to 1st April

First topic message reminder :

We have found a nice centrally located venue for our Easter meet in 2013.
It is to be held at Peak Rail, Rowsley, Derbyshire,DE4 2LF
I have booked it for 4 nights, you can arrive on Thursday 28th March, and leave the site on the 1st April
Cost per van per night = £5 + VAT
Plus the usual £1 per person rally fee
No electric but there is water and an elsan point.

Was that not caused by most going on the Spanish trip , leaving just you and me in the UK along with the snow

i think those going to spain should go now. as every where you go on this site ends up about spain only problen with easter meet should of be in the south only hommers rallys meets or wot ever on her keep i am gong to be here to face book.

Was it snow or rain? seem to remember the field was flooded or floods in that area.

Just tried peak rail again, still no answer, they must not be able to get to work

Shelter has arrived.

Jackie from Peak rail has just phoned me.
She says the main roads to the site are clear and not a problem, there is about a foot of snow on the car park and they are clearing that away for us now, we will be using the bottom of the car park, picnic area not usable. I said people will be turning up about lunch time on Thursday, A guy called Rob Sanders will be on site to show you where to park if in doubt
Lets hope we don't get any more snow!

Cheer up Mick , things can only get better , your van is nearly fixed , the weather will get better , you have had a lot to deal with recently, by the way how is the kitchen?

Freezing weather to stay for at least 2 more weeks in the UK, think we should head south even souther than south and then a bit further south.

Ken glad you have not let slip about the snowboarding and skiing and sledging we are going to enjoy also snow men and women building

They just don't know what they are going to miss

Might have a run up to make sure they don't take all the snow away

Looking at weather forecasts last night and they don't look too bad, forecast a little snow for Thursday, as long as its not much we will be ok. But it does change from day to day, but it seems to be changing for the best

A family of travellers who faced eviction from Matlock Bath Station car park have left of their own free will.

Derbyshire Dales District Council had served an eviction notice on the family – who are about to be offered a temporary site in Rowsley – for Tuesday, March 26.

But the family left at 9am on the morning of the eviction for Cromford Meadows.

Where have they gone John?
Hope the local residents don't think it is us

Phoned Bakewell tourist information up earlier and they said the main roads and pavements were clear and suggested I phoned Buxton to ask them as well which I did and they said the A 6 was clear so as long as the wind stay still I should be ok for THursday tea time will get the pizzas tomorrow

Cracking meet, weather very kind to us, bit chilly at night but at least the sun was out during the day and we had no rain at all over the weekend.
Thanks to everyone that attended, you made it a good weekend.

My insides are still sore from the G force of that train ride

Great weekend we're back home at last.
