| Are you happy with yours? I got a BIG bill from November, well not too big but I don't usually go over my minutes, went over that month by 100+ minutes, mainly to mobiles Anyway, to cut a long story short, I wasn't happy and was ready for switching to Giff-Gaff who have a great pricing structure, got on the phone to Vodafone and straight to the cancellations dept, after 3 calls and an hour on the phone in total, they offered me unlimited mins, unlimited texts and 1GB of data for £15 a month That will do me nicely for the next 12 month _________________ Keeping Leapys boat sailing [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| They only want more money if you upgrade your phone A good half of contract fees is the handset cost | |

| What really annoys me with mobile contracts, no matter how many minutes you have it doesn't cover the 0845, 0870 0800 etc. etc. numbers.
I have yet to meet anyone yet who has got away with a set billing amount every month for a full contract term e.g. 12 months at £15/mth seems to always end up £18.25 this month £17.65 next month and so on.
Any one know of a fully inclusive contract that covers all numbers, (excluding the premium rate) |

| Be careful with the 08 numbers, we have any-time calls on our land-line and I was under the impression that all 08 numbers were included but it turns out that its only 0800, 0870 and 0845.
0844 etc. are not included ? and you will notice that a lot more companies are using 0844
If you have Sky land-line (broadband) call package I don't think that they include the 0870 number just the 0845 double check
I do use saynoto0870 etc. but stupidly I thought 0845 and 0844 numbers were the same ????
So be careful and double check what are FREE calls as again very few people end up only paying the up-front stated monthly amount, there always seems to be those little extras that are NOT SUPPOSED TO MATTER very much but add up to a good few quid at the end of the year. |

Brian, there is a website that you can go on and check out the 01 number instead of the 08 number. I always check this out before ringing on my mobile so I don't incurr their 08 charges. Here is a link that you may all find useful: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]You just use the tabs under the adverts to see the number you require. I find this very useful. | |

| Hi, Cheryl
Thanks I do use saynoto0870 which is very good,
The main point I was trying to raise is that you really have to read the small print as most of the contracts have a clause which always seems to me a bit underhand.
As on one side they say Unlimited Calls or 1000 minutes etc. etc. which to the uninitiated would seem to be utopia "that will do nicely I will never use that many minutes" ?
But the sting in the tail, that is not clear is that those minutes can't be used for certain numbers, and unless you are aware and check your month bill carefully you will probably never notice those extra few quid every month that you are paying for those minutes that you call those non included numbers.
Obviously people like us are aware of this and use Saynoto0870 but there are lots of other people who either don't realise what is happen or perhaps have enough money that they really don't care. |

| Hi, Another problem I find is that quiet often the excess call costs that come if you exceed your monthly quota or make calls to numbers that are not covered under your contract are very often charged at a higher rate than those for the PAYG customers. We were with Virgin several years ago and left them because of it, from what I can see on there web site it appears even now they charge around 40p for calls above your contract allowance and 15p for text, but if you were on Virgin PAYG they would be around 26p for calls and 12p for text, it may be worth double checking as its not that easy to identify, I have therefore pasted a couple of links below [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |
