4. Bournemouth meet - 26th Aug to 1st Sept 2014

We have booked 6 nights at the following site

Bournemouth

BH8 0DZ
6 nights, arrive Tue 26th Aug, leave site Mon 1st Sept
Located on a bus route for easy access to Bournemouth.
From the 28th to the 31st of Aug, the Bournemouth Air Festival is on, this is a free event held on the sea front, we will be parked about 3 or 4 mile away, we will look at getting a mini bus into Bournemouth one day to the Airshow, (depends on numbers and price)
Why not tie this in with the Burford school meet which can be found HERE

£7 per unit per night, plus the usual £1 per person rally fee

Spoke to Mr Cheeseman the site warden on the phone today & have arranged to go to the site with him for a chat at the end of the month.
will keep everyone posted!.

Just worked out Mick's holiday entitlement and we can only make this meet for the Bank Holiday weekend, hope thats OK.

Just checked the dates on the calendar and you are right, it is after the bank holiday and its Mick's short weekend!  I will chat with him tonight to see what we can do, but we may end up not being able to come as I was banking on him getting leave - Merde!!

I could try & book the site from the 22nd, this would have to make it a 10 day meet as the Airshow is on from Thursday 28th - Sunday 31st which is fine by me, hopefully making it possible for Cheryl & Mick to still attend some of the meet.
As Polly has said however this would affect the Burford dates, as a suggestion would we possibly get more interest in numbers if Burford was changed to the 1st September onwards making it a few days break for the journey home for some.

Before you change the dates Mark, let me speak with Mick as this was designed to be a follow on meet from the Burford one.

You can't really go changing meets when half a dozen people have their names down, that's not right at all, can't see anything wrong with adding a few days to Bournemouth though even if they do overlap, but doubt you'll get it anyway with it being a bank hokiday

Was only following on from what you said here ken & testing the water first, I won't change anything unless everyone is in agreement.

I didn't mean Bournemouth, like I said, can't see a problem adding days to it, depends on interest though, no good if only one or two are going to turn up. First call is to see if its available with it being a bank holiday

Perhaps best to leave as is.

Hi All

I am really sorry but we will definitely not be able to make this meet now as Mick's cousins from Australia are on the Grand Union and will be in Stoke Bruerne that weekend and we will be going over to see them.

Perhaps another time we will get there.

Agenda for Bournemouth Meet...

Arriving on Tuesday from 12pm.
We will all meet up with friends old & new. brief Information on airshow & bus times availible. Drinks & nibbles in the evening.

Wednesday @ 6pm paella night freshly cooked!! A small contribution will be asked from all those partaking.

Thursday - sunday Bournemouth Airshow.

Sunday evening get together for an evening of fun with the infamous Motor-Homers raffle.
Please bring a raffle prize!

Monday - depending on how many of us are still left A boules competition.

We have an events shelter & 2x large paella pans!!  
Slight caution when aproaching site, quite bumpy for about 200 yards!!

Will be visiting site with Christine one of the wardens tomorrow to see where we can get sited should have quietend down a bit from bank holiday. We still have room if anymore interested!!!
