| First topic message reminder :Well, my refurbishment of my new to me van is proceeding. Replaced both MPK roof-lights with Mini-Heki's, Fitted a Gas-it refillable system, and I have taken the shower out and all that horrible plastic that was the bathroom. Now I have a toilet cubicle. When I took the shower tray out, I expected a horror story, but there was just a tiny bit of rot on the floor panel near the drain, PHEW big sigh of relief, and after much reading how, I wallpapered the loo room. If that is a success, I will be wallpapering the rest of the van as well. Have had the van serviced, and the mechanic said that it is in good nick for its age, so I am now a bit more confident with it. In time I will be re-upholstering all the cushions and have a very good friend who has done it before, but I may well ask for advice right here on Motor-Homers. Hoping one day to be able to afford solar power! that is it for now, is it spring yet? the sign that I follow | |

| It's a VW T4 cab chassis. The engine is the naturally aspirated, 5 cylinder diesel. It's not a speed machine but has loads of torque and is a real joy to drive. | |

| Bit like my Merc Sprinter Debbie, 5speed sprinter engine so not Brilliant fuel wise, not a flying machine at 5500kg but hey the torque is wow, would climb Everest if it had a road up to the top.
Really impressed with your m/h and your work.
Seen you when we get home. | |

| Upwards and onwards, work continues, bit of wiring to do, finish tightening and checking gas pipes, and refitting the benches. the benches came out real easy, but getting them back in was not so easy, especially as the wallpaper was still drying, and with new Lino fitted, no reference holes for the screws. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Pelmets stripped for re-upholstery, took me two hours to get all the staples out of the longest one, think they must have been having a competition in the factory to see who could get the most staples in! | No not yet, as soon as I get another weather break, I will start the process of making the van water tight. Once I've done that, then I can start on the overcab bed. I bought this van because it is my preferred layout, its on a VW, and I knew that there would be a lot of work to do. So this is my ongoing project, something I badly needed to help me start living again, after losing my husband Robert in June 2012. | |

| I have just endured two days of back pain hell, so took to my bed with Ibuprofen and a packet of frozen peas! Pain is now subsiding, so I can get a bit more done, so its off with old and on with the new colours:- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |
