7. 2014 Xmas Meet At Uttoxeter Racecourse 3rd to 8th Dec

This years Xmas meet will be held at Uttoxeter Racecourse, Wood Lane, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, ST14 8BD
Plenty of room with hard standing and EHU
Arrive Wed 3rd Dec, leave site Mon 8th Dec, 5 nights
We have the use of a function room for 4 days - Thu-Sun
£16 per night, can reduce to £15.50 if more than 20 vans attending

There will be a meal at the Water Bridge
3 courses £15.99
Starters
Tomato soup with a Cream and basil pesto
Prawn cocktail
Garlic and herb breaded mushrooms
Chicken liver pate
Mains
8oz sirloin steak
Turkey dinner with all the trimmings
Grilled Tilapia with Thyme and Cranberry crumble

A £10 deposit per person is required before the end of October

I would assume that there is plenty of availability at Uttoxeter Racecourse, but you know as much as I do regarding the meal.

All new members oh and old (not age old) this is a good opportunity to come and meet some Motor-Homers 
Well all meets are good opportunity but Christmas is a time for get together and merriment and enjoyment(sounds like an average meet)

But do come and join us, i your thinking about it say yes and put your names down and it will be good to meet up with new faces and old ones

people vote with there feet and walk.in reply to  first post members that rally need more that a cold wet field ,there are many events going on around the country that can be joined in by all . and shared by all

Too many decisions are made  in committe room and members are not allowed a say in anything unless they can attend the AGM in person , no online voting  on any decisions ,  and the choice of venue for a special meet may not have been the best choice

The rally is on hardstanding with electricity- with a function room available for the duration of our stay- Mike
The committee is an elected body at the AGM  -by the members and responds to members views if they are forthcoming .Places on the committee are available if you feel your views are not being heard Baza
Choosing venues that suit all is virtualy impossible-but you can add ideas in the appropriate section
On line voting for details discussed at an AGM is not workable -sorry- and doesn't take place within any other clubs I have experience of.

Members are invited to attend these meets and therefore it is up to them
I am a member and attend meets and went onto the committee last year 
But if members choose not to come to the AGM  we can't make them

It would be good to have some new faces or some old faces even.
But it is like all clubs(even the C&CC)

As I said before come and enjoy a Christmas meet and a AGM or just come for the meet

Father/mother Christmas hopefully will be in attendance if they are not to busy

Hope the games are being organised but no stripping and changing clothes this year

Oh and we  must have a raffle and pass the parcel . As I have had  2 parcels wrapped up for at least 6 months

I took on board everything that was discussed in the summer with Baza and where it is possible we will be asking members for their views but regards online voting I am not against change but I really dont see how it would work.

The number of times members are asked for their views on rallies, places to go and help with rallies, how often do they come forward, with the exception of a few regulars nobody says anything, basically they cant be bothered and that is not why they join a forum to do anything. 

So do you really think if we went to the trouble of setting up online voting which would be a nightmare they would take the trouble to vote I don't think so. These days people just want to turn up as and when it suits them but are not prepared to do anything regarding organising.

Its a good job we have a few people on the committee that are prepared to spend some of their time organising for others otherwise none of you would be on here and we wouldnt have a forum,

Certainly not against change for the benefit of members
As this online vote would mean a change in our constitution if adopted, it would need to be put forward as a motion to be discussed and voted on at the AGM

No idea Baz it's just how it feels

I have to agree with some but not all the points Jan has made, there is not enough response from members when asked for example where they would like to go for a rally so it ends up mainly with committee making the decision.
This seems to be a common ground with a lot of decisions that have to be made, the chance for members to have an input towards a decision is out there on the forum but unfortunately not many of us do.

I appear to have missed most of this topic because we are not going to Xmas meet, I don't tend to read it.  I think your comments about the apathy of members should be in a topic that is separate to Xmas Meet.  Perhaps it should be under the heading of AGM and then it might make me (and possibly others) to open it, look and possibly make a comment.

I have had one PM in reply to vote for the committee members. Instead of arguing Barry and Mike why not put your names forward for committee or vote for who you would like to see on the committee.
You can flame me - I am acting as Homers Secretary waiting to receive your PM s.

I note neither of you have attended Homers meets for some considerable time so think it is unfair to suggest rally members are freeloaders.

Further I think the debate posts should be moved to a new topic.

sorry joyce at what point have i argued with any one in this thread . as for barry he does not speak for me and i do not for him .

Not at all funny Polly ,  I  would like to say  that  I care  a lot for  this forum and a lot of the members on it  , but dont agree with the direction it is going . Not speaking for Mike , but I feel that he feels much the same , yes we are both on another forum in fact I   am a member of many forums  as he is , and I imagine most of the members on here are on other forums .
